On this trip, we will explore medieval monuments – many of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites – including the island monasteries of Lake Tana, the obelisks of Axum and the rock hewn churches of Lalibela – considered by many the eighth wonder of the world.

The Great Rift Valley has created breathtaking mountains, valleys and gorges, with the  spectacular Simien Mountains a highlight – a sere landscape of peaks reaching 4,000m. The boutique Limalimo Lodge, located on an escarpment in the Simien Mountains National Park, is based on sustainability and conservation and offers the experience of sharing the majestic scenery with ibex, wolves and gelada baboons!

There will be excursions to local markets, with the opportunity to purchase hand-woven textiles & baskets, jewellery and hand-made metal works.

Plus we will visit the school’s we have built and meet the students whose lives have been changed by our work!

We will be staying in sensational accommodations, including the awarding winning Limalimo Lodge in the Simien Mountains, Gheralta Lodge in Tigray, Mayleko Lodge in Gondor and Kuriftu Resort in Bahir Dah.

Trip cost is $4630 plus a fundraising goal of $4000. All the funds raised will enable us to continue to provide Ethiopian children living in poverty attend child-friendly community-supported schools.
